Em,

Dunno I mean sure you do some underground work, but there's some above ground stuff that you have to do too. Plus you get to fight guys that make Zuggy look easy.

We have had some success with this group, but mind you I think out of all the DM's of Age of Worms I've killed the most characters.

1. PC's don't complement one another. My players don't work together, they tend to make a character that is fun to play/roleplay first, strategy second. The problem with this is large for this particular campaign.
2. Players tend to avoid playing clerics. You will need a cleric, possibly a healing specialist.
3. My PC's have never had to run away so often before. They have the kamakaze hero trait, all of them.

CN Warlock Diabolus
CN Barb/Rog Dwarf
NE Clr/Wiz elf, going Mystic Theurge
CN Sword-and-board human fighter
TN GMNPC Halfling cleric

I probably can't even list the amount of dead characters. Its about 15 now.

We are halfway through the lizard caverns and I've had a session where no-one died. We all rejoiced. I'm vaguely uncertain about the "I'll never roll but change the result at will" now.

But hell it's fun. My players really appreciate success now.

Unless the DM is being generous and says otherwise, your Divine Health does not protect you from Parasites. Those can be killed by Remove Disease because the spell also kills parasites, including green slime and others. This is a vitally important distinction in AoW. Ask the DM ahead of time so you know before it is too late.
I killed my party's Paladin this way. The player thought his paladin would survive and played it that way. I suppose this is just another classic way for a paladin to die - there are actually quite a few come to think of it. ;)

One thing, I like a little "common sence" in D&D, when feasible, and can understand making that mistake from both ends of the table. I wish the ability actually noted that parasites are separated from diseases in the rule set. I prefer to save "technicality kills" for those who abuse rules or gargle with green slime, rather than a player who did not read up on something easy enough to miss.

IMC, I decided that the rule was unclear. I though that Immunity to Disease should help against the worms, but not be a free ride against some of the high-level 'worm' stuff.
So, ItD kills one worm per round. Great against the Spawn of Kyuss, OK against the Favoured Spawn, but not much use against some of the high level monsters.

Geoff.
