Actually ghosts are just fine in Anti-magic zones, since they reside on the ethereal plane. It's their Manifest (Su) power that gets effed. And if that's the case, then they won't really be able to affect much on the Prime Material.

A wraith, however, ceases to exist as long as it stays in the anti-magic field. So it's a good defense against those pesky incorporeal undead reaching up through the floor at you.

Just as well, too :) It couldn't drain Con, but it could still deal 1d4 damage... and since it can only be affected by magic weapons, spells, or other incorporeal effects (generally unavailable to PCs in an AMF), a wraith with its own AMF would be annoying!

Abjurations, like Force effects, extend to the ethereal.

That's right. But "A manifested ghost remains partially on the Ethereal Plane, where is it not incorporeal."

So they don't wink out, they're just stuck on the Ethereal Plane unable to use any special abilities.

I guess what would really be nice is an Anti-magic Shield. It'd block magic and (Su) stuff from crossing the line, but not completely gunk up your own spellcasting. And with this, just have the shield on the floor... so nothing can reach up for you. :)

Sure... so the ghost couldn't use any of its (Su) on the ethereal plane either. Not that that matters at all with Manifest anyways, since it only puts the ghost on the Prime Material.

And what Hyp said.

Just in case nobody else mentioned it.... In the quintessential Druid book, there is a feat that allows a Druid to maintain its wild shape form even while its is an anti-magic field.

Prerequistes: Con 15+
Benefits: Don't recall exact details, but you make a Concentration check every round you are in the field against the Spell's DC. Don't remember if there are any penalties or bonuses. The Druid still can't, of course, cast spells or use magical equipment (even Wild armor).

Just my 2 pence (I'm feeling English today). :)

a druid and its wild-shape ability. Which apparently is just an illusion that works permanently except for in (again) a null-magic area.

Run that by me again? Wild shape is just a modified and Supernatural version of polymorph, so your physical form actually does change.

Golems and undead function normally in an antimagic field (see PHB: "Spells: Antimagic Field").

Probably because the creation of constructs and undead is Instantaneous, not Permanent (and thus subject to antimagic).

Dispel magic, by the way, seems to very explicitly only affect spells (and magical items, which you can think of as a form of spell effect). Supernatural abilities just aren't covered.
