While that gives you 15ft reach, to get the full room grooving. Changling + 2 Warshaper + Potion of Enlarge Person + Aberrant Reach + Spiked Chain = 40ft.

Wouldn't using a Whip in this case still give you extra reach?

The spell can affect the same target multiple times. That's the point of the ability, in fact. And it can be quite devastating, true enough, OTOH, duskblades have to be good at SOMEthing, don't they. And that something is damage dealing. A 18th level duskblade with GTWF channeling Vampiric Touch does deal an extra 49d6 damage indeed, but compared to what other classes can do, it's not that overpowered.

Perhaps you could point out antoher class that does 49d6 damage in a round?

Frankly, that is obscene.

Obscene yes, but sadly many 3.5 characters do damage like that.

Wizard with some splat

sudden quickened, sudden empowered, sudden maximized meteor swarm
144 from maximized dice + 40 is the average result of the empowered dice

then a Empowered delayed blast fireball adds another 94 points to the wizards total also forcing a fort save on the victim.

If fire resist or good reflex saves get in the way, polar ray or horrid wilting can help...

Scout/Ranger with Swift Hunter and GrManyshot shoots four arrows plus a move action every round for 4d8+4*(str mod+enhancement bonus)+28d6 skirmish damage.

Add some magic items or other feats and you'll get even more... without spending spells.

Some decent examples, I suppose, but still not in the same league, and all of them require some shenanigans, some jumping through rules loopholes, and have some weaknesses inherent. Yes, broken things exist in 3.x but saying a 49d6 vampiric attack against one target was intended is ridiculous.

This might solve your problems:

Persistent Arcane Channelling [General]
You can hold your touch spells long enough to strike the opponent several times before the spell wears off.
Prerequisite: Base attack bonus +16, Arcane Channelling (full attack), Quick Cast 2/day
Benefit: By spending one use of your Quick Cast ability when using the Arcane Channelling ability, the touch spell you use dissipates only at the very end of your turn. The spell gets discharged each time you score an attack, regardless of the number of attacks you can make in a round and regardless of whether it is the same target or not.
Normal: When using Arcane Channelling as part of a full-attack action, the spell used gets discharged only once per target hit.

You can get this feat only at 18th level as a standard duskblade, you'll also need a Quick Cast to channel a spell as a swift action and might need Somatic Weaponry to channel the spell while wielding a sword and shield.

Wizard 18 casting Empowered Disintegrate, 56d6 damage.

49d6 is average 171 damage. It is a pretty normal damage output for a character of that level.

I find it an interesting twist of mind that the spell discharges only once per target. It means either the spell is intelligent enough to KNOW which target it is hitting, or the duskblade himself says "hey, I'm cool, I'm gonna spare this guy by not unleashing the fires of hell all at once". The only reason a single target can't be affected more than once is because someone thought it would be overpowered, which it isn't. I can't see any other logic behind that.
