In regards to wizards is it balanced to allow their spells to be any type the player wants as long as its picked when the character learns the spell?
My problem is the 4e is a bleak list of spells for someone who wants to specialize (unless its ice)
Are the ice feats balance to allow it to work with any energy type in combination with any energy spell type being up to the player to decide?
are the energy types balanced with themselves or are their clearly better ones (not counting feats) like in 3.5
are the resistances spread out among the monsters in the dmg or is their one resistance that they seem to like (like sonic in 3.5)
