As a player, what monster/opponent is the most frustrating to fight?

In one of the Green Ronin Modules (Black Sails over Freeport IIRC) we fought these intelligent dire ape like creatures on one of the Pirate Isles. They used a mancatcher type weapon with 10' reach. Required only a touch attack and they made a opposed grapple check or you were immobilzed, and they had something like +19 Grapple. We were around 7th-9th level and most of us couldn't win an opposed grapple against +19.

Hi,

I vote for the thorciasid (from the Epic Level Handbook) -- it took us three sessions to kill the bloody thing! Ability drain, energy drain, epic DR -- horrible, horrible. To add insult to injury it looks like a medium sized giant cockroach.

Incorporeal undead, particularly energy draining ones, are annoying. My girlfriend votes for the chuul.

Cheers

In a previous campaign, our DM threw a Half-Fiend Troll at us. We had absolutely no acid-damage to speak of. Now that was frustrating. It wasn't strong enough to just TPK us, but we couldn't do any lasting damage to it at all. Very frustrating.

In our current campaign, our DM has embraced a "good for the goose, good for the gander" policy, and we've seen several of our party's nemeses return from the dead to face us repeatedly. It's frustrating (in a good way) to actually kill the recurring villain, only to have him continue to recur. :p
