Persona:
Mhyrko loves the outdoors. He doesnt dislike people but he does prefer animals. Always has, always will. He grew up in the snakewoods with lord loughton but when loughton went of to be a squire Mhyrko remained in the wilds. He has been seen wrestling with bears, hunting with wolves and playing with badgers. He has swam with lizard lions as well. Many a bandit has fallen to his axe.
When his cousin assumed lordship of the house Mhyrko was there to swear his loyalty to him. He has always been there when Lord Loughton has needed him and joined him in his opposing the Baratheon rebellion. Mhyrko saw his cousin take the lance that maimed his leg but was too far to help. As the unit rode on Mhyrko knew he could not catch them but he took aim and hurled a handaxe with all his might. It caught the assailent in the back, but though blood poured from the wound the man rode off and was lost from sight in the mass combat all around. Running to his cousins side, he saw the damage that would stay with lord loughton til the end of his days. So too would Mhyrko long to meet the man who felt his axe to give him another taste of vengance.
Mhyrko likes ser Jarl, his other cousin, especially since they both share an inability for deception and stand by their honor. And they both serve the needs of their house as best they can.
He feels ser Lanton is going to make a fine lord some day. Should he outlive his cousin, Mhyrko will be proud to serve "Lord Lanton".

Set of second-hand (but well-looked after) hard leather, heavy iron knuckledusters, Traveller's garb.
A quarterstaff that doubles as a walking staff, iron bound and iron-capped.
Backpack with a portable smithing kit, a small tent that's seen better days, a heavy blanket, 2 waterskins, 2 sets flint & steel, an iron knife and a battered but usable mess kit.
Pouch with 6 silver stags and a handful of coppers.
About 10 pounds of iron pieces - some strips, some small plates.

Roy was brought up by his mother and adopted father, who was a miner. As soon as he was old enough, he worked down the mines as well. He was agile enough to get into places that even most of the other kids in the mine couldn't, but as he grew, it became harder and harder to squeeze through small gaps, and he put his burgeoning strength into actual mining itself. His mother told him of his real father the day before she died of the bloody flux, while she still had the strength to do so, but apart from knowing that he was a nobleman of some kind, she just didn't know enough. As his father said, "if he ain't around to bring yer up, he ain't a father worth 'avin". A year later, his father died in a cave-in. The vein of ore they'd been working was taking a treacherous turn, and the cave-ins claimed several lives. Roy was caught in one, and managed to dig, then drag, his workmates to safety. When he got out, he heard his father hadn't been so lucky. None of those who'd been stuck down there for half a day wanted to go back down right away, so the bosses found alternative jobs for them. Roy took on blacksmithing, as his size and strength would stand him in good stead here - and he found he was good at it.
An investigation found that one of the suppliers had been in cahoots with one of the foremen, sending second-grade wood, which had collapsed under the strain. Roy walked away from the punishment of the foreman, never to lie again. Any time he even thought about it, he remembered his father, and the words stuck in his throat.
As his fear of enclosed places subsided, he went back down the mines again, but he kept up his blacksmithing. His inability to lie was starting to cause problems though. The foremen had realized it, and were starting to use him as a crosscheck to see if his workmates were lying - something which ended up with him in more fights than he cared for. By the time his apprenticeship term ended, he had realized that being around people socially wasn't the place for him - he had focused on just doing his work. Well, there was no need for another blacksmith, and there was no work for a member of a mining team that wouldn't interact socially with the team, so he was let go.
His old friends had some things for him. The blacksmith gave him a portable smithing kit, he had an old set of hard leather armor which had been looked after well from one of the men he'd pulled to safety, and he'd made himself a heavy set of iron knuckledusters for those who felt the need to take a barroom brawl outside. From there, the world! Somewhere out there is a place for him, and he is going to find it...
