I have a Player (Dwarven Barbarian) who wants to rig some kind of strap, or get some kind of device that would help him from being disarmed by the groups Monk (...hehehe...) any ideas or sources anyone can rememeber...

Thanks

Disarmed by monks? How could that happen? He's using a dagger or what?

When you have both hands free to disarm, you disarm as the size creature you are. Thus, if that monk isn't carrying anything in his off hand, he disarms as a medium weapon.

A tricky proposition

Any thoughts about whether putting an Arcane Lock on a locking gauntlet would improve the bonus it grants against disarm attempts?

Assuming one uses the variant rule from Sword & Fist (p. 69).

It's questionable weither arcane lock would even work on a locked guantlet given that there is no actual lock, nor anything that opens or closes. Be kind of like trying to cast arcane lock on your shoe laces.

If it did work though, it would just make it harder to force open. I always assumed that when you disarm somebody with a locked gauntlet you aren't forcing it open, your just sliding it out (this is why your gauntlet doesn't break or anything).
