"Give us a second," Casper tells Heartbreak. She goes over to Saint and Skinny.

"We'll get CTI brands from the hostages, then get them out of sight from the door. Sometimes the best ambush is from plain sight."

Her taser made a little 'fwweeeeeee' noise, ascending in pitch, as she pointed at one of the women. "Hope you're wearing underwear today."

Her taser made a little 'fwweeeeeee' noise, ascending in pitch, as she pointed at one of the women. "Hope you're wearing underwear today."

The woman stares up at her, a pleading look in her eyes. Somehow, being forced to undress seems to be more traumatic for her than the actual threat of violence. She seems about to protest, until Skinny catches her gaze. Briefly, she sees the merciless void in him before she submits and looks away again. Wordlessly, she removes her clothing and with a very self conscious motion, tosses them in a pile next to Casper.

She's not naked, of course, but humiliated all the same. There's a jacket with "Security" printed on it hanging from the back of a chair, which she quickly puts on. She looks away from the runners, toward the wall, and will not say a word.

Casper, on the other hand, has no such issue with modesty and strips her own clothing without hesitation, exchanging it for the woman's. The woman's skin is dark enough that the picture on her employee ID badge can pass for Casper on a casual glance, but the similarity would absolutely not stand up to even routine scrutiny.

Saint will take a minute to scout a suitable location for an ambush.

Saint can't think of a better ambush point than this office itself. The workbench is in an area that can't be seen from the doorway, so anyone would have to actually come into the room to see it. If the hostages and runners are all moved there, it would be an easy place to ambush someone.

Heartbreak watches as Saint scopes the place out and tries not to give the wage-slaves a second thought. When Caspar finishes changing he clears his throat.

"You all ready?"

When he gets an assent from everyone Heartbreak will send out the recall command to the closest drone team.

"Somebody tell me taking out these teams is necessary," says Skinny. The solipsistic feeling of invincibility common to mercenary types has always been with him, but not as much in the last few months, not with his symptoms accelerating. The old half of him craves the adrenaline-high that gunfights provide, the new worries about every confrontation. "F--k it, let's do this."

As if to reassert his potential for explosive violence in the wake of his momentary hesitation he approaches the already-humiliated hostage in the security jacket and shoves the muzzle of one of his pistols against her nose. "All of you on your bellies," he snaps at the hostages, "now." Once they've complied he starts putting them in zip-ties.

"Ready when you are," he says to the team.

"It'll definitely reduce the risk later," Casper points out. "Heartache can stop the drones, leaving all of us to ambush the lone human operator, each one individually. Divided and conquered. Then we'll have a lot more freedom to move around." She takes position sitting at one of the tables, sitting with her body between the door and her weapon hand.

Heartbreak operates the console to start recalling drone teams. This is Computer + Logic test, and does not involve hacking at all (since Heartbreak is not exploiting code, just using a device as any non-hacker could). He easily masters the console's controls, and begins by recalling the drones by the CTI showroom. Each of the drones has a position indicator on the console, and Heartbreak can see them all dutifully obeying the "return to base" command.

A voice comes over the security radio channel. The voice has a suspicious edge to it. "Team 1 to Control; my drones are returning to you. What's going on?"

The runners see that the radio has a transmitter at several different workstations in this room. Any of the runners can send a reply, but by the sound of it, whoever responds to this man will have a hard time persuading him everything is okay...
