Tom Moldvay's TSR adventure B4: The Lost City is drenched in pulp influences. One of the less-acknowledged examples may be the strong theme of cynicism toward institutional religion it shares with Edgar Rice Burroughs', The Gods of Mars. More than just a passing similarity, specific elements of the adventure seem to reflect important aspects of the book.
