So, it looks like Baen Books intends to release a quarterly electronic magazine, intended to pay far better than normal for short fiction, as reported in This Sci Fi Wire story

Hm. I generally don't buy e-books. But this, I might buy...

In the past Baen's produced a magazine (a paperback magazine, actually), called Destinies that's really rather good. I've got a number of the back issues on my shelves, and enjoy flipping back through them. So, I'll have to keep an eye out for this magazine as well.
