Yeah I know it's old but I loved this game back in the day and have just picked it up again!

Just wondering if anyone's got a link for any patches etc. if anyone thinks they're necessary, (can't say I recall a need back then).

I've heard of a level cap remover? Could anyone point me in the right direction?

http://www.baldurdash.org/ is a good place to check. The fixes go past the official patches and add new things, too.

If you're looking for things like an XP cap remover, try http://modlist.pocketplane.net/. There are a whole bunch of mods listed there. Some of them are quite good, and I wouldn't consider playing BG2 again without them.

Played through twice, once with a human female paladin and one with a human male bard. Fun game, but I'm a wuss, so I cheated ocassionally.

The "chapel" that that key opens is within that dungeon. If you did the whole thing with assembling the mask, then you used the key. If not, you've got more to do.

I remember assembling the mask and battling the "invisible" fire elemental, so I guess I used it.
