Rowan retreats with the others, and is greatly gratified that the elves then come out to parley. Having no diplomatic skills nor any elvish, Rowan leaves that to the others, for now, anyway.

He uses the mindlink to tell the others. "Tell them about Vanth. He's going to transform tonight, & there's no point pretending otherwise to the elves. Let's be straight with them."
