Stagnation will be the end of the human race, let us not let the same fate come to the GMF. I want to open a new public thread were the GMF was first founded here on enworld, nut I need advice and help. Should we ressurect one of the old threads or create a new one. This position while GREAT does not get us out to the public, we DMs tend to be hermits but even WE got to get out there once and a while.

yeah, but then, it becomes a forum that everybody goes on, and the GMF gets flooded with annoying posts from every n00b DM on the planet.

I guess I'm back; someone gave me a little push into posting again. I can't type much, but I'll be around.

The only issue with a recruiting thread is that it will inevitably be pushed down into the "inactive threads" very, very quickly. Maybe we could post bits of Nightcloak's notebook on there for advertising and then start an open discussion, while looking for people to invite....that way you can weed out the noobs if you like.

Agreed. Nightcloak's stuff is awesome. Just clean it up a bit, post it in the main forum with a link that says "another fine GMF product". The people who are interesting in MAKING things like that will join, while the people who just want the benefit of the advice will still get it.

True, inactivity will be the death of it, especialyl in the main forums, unless we coudl get it stickyed. (Unlikely) WE shoudl have the council members rotate and post something interesting or thoughtful occasionally (maybe Nightcloak a little more often;)) to keep the thread active.

This will both allow prospctive members to see a preview of what they might get and keep the recriutment active.

Macrovore we all were "n00b" DMs at one point or another, just because someone asks what you perceive to be a "stupid" question or idea doesn't mean that they are bad DMs, for some people it comes more naturally like sports for others they have to work at it for years before things begin to click in their heads and they find their rhythm...I myself have been DMing for 6 years and stilll don't think of myself as a good DM, I think I'm an Average DM but not good and definately not Great, although the more I practice and study the material the better I feel I become, but I still don't think that I am nearly as good as I can be. So I would like to remind everyone that you too were at some point a "n00b" with annoying "stupid" questions...people learn through experience and teachings of others...so lets edify others and not tread on them because they have less experience than us.
