It is not in the Illusion school, but Mind Fog is pretty nice to have for illusionists. -10 to will saves is sweeeeet!

Complete Mage has an Illusionist specialist prestige class (which you can get into as early as character level 4) as well as illusionist class alternate abilities.

Yeah, but Mind Fog has a will save: Why cast a spell that gives a penalty to saves if they fail a save when you can just cast a spell that kills them if they fail a save?

The Master Specialist class is very nice for illusionists (it's not for all specialists) and yeah, being able to get in early is very cool.

Spell Compendium and the Complete Book of Eldritch Might also have a ton of good new illusions.

Complete Mage also has a nice PrC that uses fear and illusion spells together, if your illusionist hasn't got necromancy as a banned school (mine has).

I would look at the races of stone substitution levels for a gnome illusionist. They are, in my opinion, the best racial sub. levels out there. The 1st level option effectively lets you cast all the major illusion spells as a whole level lower - ex. major image becomes 2nd level and silent image becomes a 0 lvl spell. The drop in spell level did not effect my dc's too often since the illusions would, more often than not, not need to interact with the targets.

The 5th level sub level was good too. Free double duration on all illusions you cast helped in several situations.

I agree. I think combining them with the Unearthed Arcana options is a good idea as well.
