This was a pretty generic but funny enough run back through my childhood. Had some funny moments, but nothing outrageously so. The ugly Sonic gag was pretty good (hey they couldn't let all that CGI go to waste!). Would never have seen it in theater, but as a few hours on streaming, its just fine.

The sheer number of references it made to other cartoons was astonishing. It's like they couldn't let a single shot go by without making a callback to some part of the last few decades of American animation.

Also, I have a morbid curiosity about how the film was received by the Gadgetologists.

I really liked it. Most the attention went into odd details and background gags, but the actual plot is serviceable enough (these two gumshoes solved one of those crimes "that went slippin' through the cracks", just like the theme song promises).

I'm a little astonished that Disney signed off on an evil Peter Pan and mouse-fly babies. More power to them.
