Last questions, do sorcerers cast infinite 0-level spells per day? And do all spells that you cast come out the next time it's your turn? Because I was looking at the concentration checks, and it seems useless if the person says they cast a magic missile, and then you roll to see if it hits, with no pause to give someone time to react to it being cast. :-S

Sorcerers get cantrips that are infinite like a wizards yes.

Also, most spells (at least used commonly in combat) take a standard action to cast and provoke attacks of opportunity

The AoO is the "oh no, its casting something, smack it hard, NOW!" moment. but only melee attacks can be AoO (some exceptions) thus as long as a caster doesn't sit in the enemies reach, they are more or less safe from AoO
(held actions for when someone tries to cast are another story)

Remember a standard action is roughly 3 seconds long, and I don't care who you are or what you can do, 3 seconds is not that long

(side note, magic missile does not have a roll to hit, or a save, only Spell Resistance blocks it, and even then, not always)

Actually, everyone who has them can cast as many 0-level spells per day as they want. Sorcerers have a short list of known 0-level spells, and Wizards, Clerics, and Druids can select which 0-level spells they have memorized on any given day.

And do all spells that you cast come out the next time it's your turn?

Spell take effect the moment casting them is done. For many spells, the casting time is 1 standard action, and therefore they come into play (possibly) in the middle of the caster's turn.

Others take a full-round action, which come into effect at the end of your turn (plus or minus a 5' step).

Still others have a casting time of 1 round, which means you're casting for your entire turn and then everyone else's, as well, and the spell comes into effect right before your next turn.

Generally speaking, the only ways to force a Concentration check are to either:

  1. Be standing right next to the caster, because casting a spell provokes an Attack of Opportunity (AoO); if the AoO hits, the caster has to make a Concentration check or lose the spell
  2. Ready an action to attack a caster if he starts casting; if this attack hits, the caster has to make a Concentration check or lose the spell
  3. Attack the caster normally if he's casting a 1-round casting time spell
  4. Deal ongoing damage to the caster (such as by lighting him on fire with a flask of oil or hitting him with an Acid Arrow spell)
