Climb and Rope: Pulling someone up?

The 3.5 PHB says it is possible to pull a character up a wall with rope thus negating the need for a climb check by that character.

What I cannot find listed is the rate of ascent for this maneuver?

It seems like it would be pretty slow or maybe based on the strength to weight ratios of those involved.

It does not seem correct to base it on the movement of the character, as climb usually does, since the character is passively being hauled up. Ideas?

Hanging in there. Better than the alternative.
I think 10'/round sounds fair. If you start calculating the strength to weight ratios, it'll get overly complicated pretty fast. If the puller can carry the pullee (ie, is within heavy load), it should just work.

I think this might go into houserules area, though.

Hmmm that would be as fast as a character climbing with a 40' move rate.

I guess that part of the question would be house rules, I was hoping for an actual clarification that I missed in one of the books so I posted here :D
