Critting with a Vorpal Weapon?

So what happens if you crit with a Vorpal Weapon.

Vorpal weapon property - Whenever you roll the max result on any damage die for this weapon, roll that die again and add the additional result to the damage total. If a reroll results in another max damage result roll it again and keep adding.

Crit - Maximum Damage: Rather than roll damage, determine the max damage you can roll with your attack. This is your critical damage. (Attacks that don't deal damage still don't deal damage on a critical hit).

A) You just do max damage plus the normal crit damage?

B) You do max damage plus normal crit damage plus you roll weapon damage as every dice came up as top damage?

C) You take a middle of the road undefined approach and do max damage plus normal crit damage and you roll every dice (not counting it as damage) to see how many you get to roll again.

Although it seems clear cut look at the phrase in Critical - maximum damage: determine the max damage you can roll with your attack, as written the max damage you can roll with a vorpal weapon is theoretically infinite.

Hmm, that's an interesting question. My ruling would actually be:

D) Max weapon damage + crit dice, reroll any crit dice that max out.

What's the minimum plus on vorpal again? +5 at least, yes? (don't have the books handy today). So that's Max damage + 5dX, rerolling and adding any of the dX that max out. More dice, more initial chances to reroll, but without being totally overpowered. Toss it on a high crit weapon with the devastating crit feat for even more fun.

Ouch! :bmelee: :bmelee: :bmelee:

If it's on a Greataxe, this is what I see happening: 12+STR+6d12+3d12. Basically, you'll roll at least 9 dice. If you got that crit on a normal daily power, another 6d12 if you're a Fighter using "No Mercy". Not bad...
It almost makes it seem like the abilitiy would be better on a Maul. THEN, you're doing something even more ridiculous. More dice being thrown with a better chance of getting that necessary high number. Then again, when will I ever have this chance? Damn.
