Kecia: I will do my best for this game to be fun. Usually the players like my tabletop DMing.

Har-Vee: You should have time to create stuff when the starship will go from planets to others (such as from Earth to Jupiter). Of course, it also depends on where the players are going to decide to go.

BTW: who knows about Transhuman Space? I think I am going to add some info from the setting here for everyone to read. It coud be useful.

"Harvee Special" Plasma Rifle (4d10, Large Weapon, Semi and Auto) also includes a "stun" setting Fort DC 14 for 1d4 rounds. Take me about 10 days. Might be a little buggy.

That sounds tempting. But how buggy is a little buggy? Would malfunctions be along the lines of: Drains the powerpack on the odd ocasion. Or: Blows up and takes off my arm?

BTW: who knows about Transhuman Space? I think I am going to add some info from the setting here for everyone to read. It coud be useful.

I'm not familiar with the setting, I'd love to see some stuff about it.

Please, this thread is normally for posting PCs and NPCs stat-blocks. To discuss various other things it would be fine to use the thread in the Talking the Talk forum.

Thanks. :)

Brendan Radley

First Post
Cpl. Brendan Radley
Fast 4/ Soldier 4; Sources: d20 Modern & d20 Future

Brendan is a respected member of the SIA paramilitary division, specialising in covert combat and rescue operations off-world. Like Kecia, his talents with demolitions have made him an ideal candidate for the recovery operation and he was selected for the purposes of providing an armed escort should force be required at any point. Because his unit specialised in low-g and zero-g environments their training also included some basics of navigation and piloting.

Brendan's home life hasn't fared well though due to his dedication to the job and the secrecy of its nature. He's struggling to maintain a relationship with his girlfriend while also maintaining his high level of professional integrity, but his latest 'business trip' has left things back home on a sour note.

Brendan payed for some heavy cybernetics out of his own pocket, wanting to reduce his chances of being killed in action.

Despite an occupation revolving around killing Brendan is a surprisingly nice guy. He was upbringing was largely uneventful, raised in a middle class family with an accountant father and a entrepeneur mother. They were surprised by his desire to join the SIA, but didn't stop him. They felt if that's what he wanted to do then it'd be best to let him do it, and if it wasn't what he wanted he could always find something else. He took to his new occupation quite well, much to his parents surprise, and he's made a living out of it since then.

Christopher Lambert
Smart 3/ Xenophile 5; Sources: d20 Modern & d20 Future

A big but nerdy-looking scientist, Lambert's dream has been to explore planets for signs of life with nothing more than a science kit, a jeep, and some oxygen. Making first contact with an intelligent being is the best thing that could happen to him.

Equipment: Yet to be determined but includes a flight suit, hunting rifle, travelling case, eight chloral hydrate darts and a "cat e-suit" (basically a cat carrier with an environmental seal that has as much oxygen as a human space suit) and, obviously, a cat.

Still need to choose 3 languages.

No I didn't boost my Sense Motive any higher than it was before. Not that it would have made a difference :)

Psi/SeveredHead! I thought you wouldn't join. Mmmh... with your unexpected arrival, team is now 10 persons! Just get a look at the thread in the Talking the Talk forum. I don't know how it will be to run 10 characters*

Well, first thing: you cannot use that pic because it is already used by someone else. I suggest pic #10 (I can make a version more nerd looking with glasses if absolutely need be). Send me an email so I send back the right pic for upload (please don't crop this low quality jpg).

Then, just remember this is a SIA mission in the solar system to recover 3 antimatter bombs... (SIA = CIA in space). However, I don't want to spoil anything of the adventure, so I let you judge of embarking this PC as is now. :uhoh: Language: any current terrestrial language could be spoken in the Solar system; but two or three PCs have already taken Chinese, that may well be encountered.

The setting: either tomorrow or Monday I launch the game thread, which begins by a summary description of the setting (Transhuman Space).

*: Team is now totally full and complete. Nobody else allowed, even if 1 or 2 players abandon. Psi/SeveredHead is allowed only because he had expressed an intent to play weeks ago.

Yikes! Sorry, I didn't know you had that many.

It's alright, just send the #10 picture to www theovermind at fastmail dot fm and I'll change my avatar.

I should have the last skill points and stuff done for tomorrow. Without ranks in Profession I'll probably be cleaned out by that cat carrier. Errr... what would be the Purchase DC for that?

Sealed cat carrier to bring your cat in space? Arbitrarily purchase DC = 20.

Now, for another purchase DC = 20, your cat has been uplifted. That is, he has an Intelligence of 8. He understands English, and can speak "Cat Language" (growls and signs), which was created by the FFS
Friendly Feline Society, a well known association of cat lovers. Normally, registered uplifted cats are all taught speaking this language, that they can speak among themselves. Humans can learn to understand it (one Speak Language slot), but are almost unable to speak it, so usually the cat is also taught to understand English (or any other relevant language as appropriate).
