The man known as Harry Makaka Jones is a quite remarkable fellow who was born in New Zealand on 2 March 1917. Where his Welsh-born father Mr Harry Jones was the Post Master in a small rural community from which came Harry Makaka's mother Tira (a halfcast native) who died when Harry Makaka was about 6.
It was at the age of 11 Harry and his father emmigrated to England where Mr Jones sen got a job working as a technician for the BBC. It was from this that Harry the younger gained a fascination with electronics and radio broadcasting in particular. It is said that young Harry would often visit his father at work, listen to the broadcasts in various languages (including French, German , Japanese and Arabic) Harry should remarkable talent in this area and soon was able to converse in all four languages as well as his native Maori and English. It is also suggested that Harry the younger was instrumental in development of Short Wave broadcasting which the BBC introduced in 1932- although no official evidence exists to support this claim.

What is known is that Harry Makaka was a friendly but tenacious young man ewith a great facination for life in general. He possessed a keen intellect and a gift for languages. He was tall and handsome and had the good build and health of his polynesian forebears.

it was not long after his 17th birthday that Harry was employed by the BBC in its foreign language broadcasting service and in this capacity he did some work with Nancy Wake a journalist based in Paris.

After hostilities broke out Harry did spend sometime in the British military mainly as a radio operator and worked closely with the New Zealand Maori Battalion even developing a Maori language based code for communications to the New Zealand troops. However Harry was wounded early in the campaign and thus was returned to Britain to recuperate it is at this point that he was recruited ...

Background

Born in 1916 in Greece, Alexis spent his youth in Athens, the capital of Greece. His father was a famous lawyer but this was just a camouflage of his true profession, he was a gun dealer working with the fascist goverment who ruled Greece that time. After Alexis found out this secret, he left his home (he was 15 years old at that time) and went to live with a relative. But his mother died of sorrow because of this and Alexis felt guilty about it. He then decided to return to his home. Surprisingly he was welcomed by everyone in his family despite of what he had done. There he spent the happiest years of his life.
He went to Medicine School and when he graduated World War 2 started in Greece with the invasion of the Italians. He was recruited as a combat medic and was sent to the front at the mountain range of Pindos. There he learned how to survive under extremely difficult circumstances.
When the Italian invasion was repelled, the army sent him back to Athens to take care of the wounded soldiers. In about two months the Germans had started a second invasion and in April 1941 Greece had been all but conquered. His whole family was executed by the Nazi and Alexis escaped by miracle.
When this happened Alexis left Greece and went to Italy where he lived in the wilderness for a month. Then he went to England through Spain and France. With this extraordinary deed (passing through France which was one of the center of the Nazis) he attracted the attention of the agency who found him suitable to complement the abilities of the rest of the group.




If there is any mistake I will correct it. Could you please inform me if there is any handgun to replace the Colt 1911 in order to match with the era we're playing.
