Daydreaming a Tour of Germany...

So, consider a North American daydreaming about a family trip to Germany (and surrounds) in a few years. Likely the only one ever to Europe (outside of a conference several decades ago). Would like to see Wolfsegg and Oldenburg-Munsterland for genealogical reasons, and would like to hit various time periods (Roman, Middle-Ages, Renaissance, WWII, and maybe filming the Sound of Music). Possibly flying into Munich, with a rental car for transportation.

What would we regret with an itinerary like the one below? Too little or too much time somewhere? Need to stop along the way someplace? If one extra day were added, what would you do with it?

Salzburg (2 days)
Munich and Dachau (1 day)
Regensberg and Wolfsegg (1.5 days) and then travel west
Trier (2 days)
Cologne (1 day)
Aachen (0.5 day) and then travel north-east
Cloppenburg-Vechta (2 days)
Get back to Munich (1 day)
