Deadly Defense - precision based?

First Post
Does the "Deadly defense" feat from Complete Scoundrel count as precision damage, similar to sneak attack, or can it be used against creatures normally immune to such damage - undead, constructs, etc?

As extra die damage , I know it won't double on any crit, but I was still unsure if the base damage counted against creatures immune to them. . . .

Thanks!

It might make sense, but it would make the feat much too weak if it's precision based damage.

It's a great feat for the heavily armored doubleweapon dwarven fighter.
