Detect Magic and Glyphs of Warding?

Does a placed Glyph of Warding (on a door, for example) detect as magical?

If so, does it show the glyph so that a Rogue may then disable it without a Search check, or must the rogue Search and then Disable at normal DC's?

Sorry fer the silly questions...

Yes, it is a spell and therefore detects as magical.

Detecting magic doesn't identify the spell, spellcraft for school and spellcraft for identification would do that. If the wizard can't id the magic, the rogue is stuck searching (but knowing there is magic)

If the wizard id's the spell, all that remains is disabling it.

It depends on how you see magic traps work. I would still require the rogue to find the trap (unless he was the mage that id'd it) so he will know how to apply his disable attempt.

Can one character find a trap and tell another character where it is to disarm it?

I say yes, and see the wizard/rogue/glyph situation as the same thing.

Can spellcraft be used to determine what spell a magical trap uses? I thought the most detail one could obtain was the school of the spell... or is that merely a limitation of Detect Magic, and once you detect the spell, you can make a second spellcraft check to identify the specific spell being used?

Even if a magical trap was pointed out to a wizard by a Rogue, wouldn't the wizard need to Detect Magic before identifying the spell in question?

Spellcraft can identify spells in operation.

20 + spell level Identify a spell that's already in place and in effect. (the character must be able to see or detect the effects of the spell.) No retry.

This, combined with detect magic for the school (15 + spell level) should be able to id the spell. It is a static DC 19 to id a Symbol when using detect magic by the way.
