Diplomacy and Aid Another

Morrow

First Post
I've got two "face" characters in my party with Diplomacy modifiers around +20, and those modifiers will continue to grow. The aid another mechanic doesn't really seem to give them full credit for resources they've put into these skills. Is there a mechanic out there, perhaps a skill trick or teamwork feat that might give the pair a little more benefit from working together?

From the Rules Compendium:

"Expert Assistance
If you have 5 or more ranks in a skill you’re using to aid another, you can grant a higher bonus. For every 10 points your check result exceeds 10, the circumstance bonus increases by 1. To determine the circumstance bonus quickly, simply divide the helper’s check result by 10, round down, and add 1.
"

It's not much of a difference, but it's better than the flat +2 bonus.

Honestly, with +20 modifiers to diplomacy (specifically), you'd be better off allowing each character to make seperate checks to bump the attitude twice. Remember that Diplomacy is a fixed table based on initial attitudes. Additionally, Aid Another is primarily meant for characters using skills that might not ordinarily have much of an effect given a particular situation whereas their party member would have better luck using that same skill.
