i talk to them, correspond with them over email, or chat with them on IM. but i don't consider it an interview.
more or less just try to figure out what they like to play. who they like to play with. and how much they know.
besides i pester the heck out of them forever more afterwards.
if they can put up with my overzealous D&D nature, i know they can handle the game.
