I don't understand why you are being needlessly adversarial about this, Hyp. During 3e there was a point where mental buff spells were introduced (FR). These were later evidently updated in T&B but between them being introduced and updated people had to work out for themselves what to do in the situation where they were extended for 24hours. Not everyone will have picked up T&B.

Hmm? I didn't realise I was.

Just noting that in both 3E and 3.5, the mental buffs specified that no bonus spells were gained. The T&B versions are effectively errata to the FR versions, so when comparing 3.5 to 3E, those are the versions 3.5 should be compared to.
