Durable II question

Ringmail is a new type of superior armor introduced in Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium. It requires a feat to be proficient with, and has a property - Durable II, as you noted - that separates it from other armor. The Durable property specifically gives a sort of one-use damage reduction each encounter. You can read up on it on page 8 of the aforementioned sourcebook.

Hope that helps!

It's a little bit of cushion from the first attack in an encounter. It basically prevents 2 points of damage from the first damage against you. You also add twice the enhancement bonus to the reduction (since it's heavy armor). So with +3 ringmail, you would subtract 8 points from the first damage you take. This is not resistance, so it does stack with resistance.

You can find the exact wording in the online compendium glossary or Mord's Mag Emp.
