[Eberron] The Legions of Karrnath

So here's a question...given the material components required to animate so many zombies and skeletons how would it be possible to raise legions an legions of undead as Karrnath has? I imagine finding that many gems would be a task in and of itself.

Now, there's other ways to animate them, such as Fell Animate, but I doubt that's the manner it was done.

My guess is that it's some new spell/ritual the Blood of Vol uses that doesn't require the material components. After all, the Karrnathi skeleton and zombie are more intelligent than your standard animated undead.
