Zuleyka grunted as she was bounced around in the wagon. But at least she was out of the Lolth-damned sun! She pulled her hood up again as she exited the conveyance, stretching out bruised, ebony limbs.

They were led into a wizard’s chamber, and she glanced around almost greedily. Perhaps she could lift a spellbook or something. Not that she had the gold to transcribe spells, but it would be something to save for the future.

When their gear was returned, she looked around with annoyance for her missing rapier before the wizard made it appear, clean and new. She snatched the blade up, checking to be sure it was hers, checking the weight. She listened with interest to the information about the curse that afflicted them.

“So can you cast this Bestow Remembrance?” Zuleyka asked. “And what do we have to do to get you to cast it.” Her fingers twitched on the pommel of her rapier, but she wasn’t exactly sure just how powerful this wizard was. He was using blood magic, though, so he must be pretty adept at the Art.

With a glance towards the magistrate to see if he didn't object, Ssz'irac moves towards the chest and collects his possessions. He takes a moment to assess the others' stuff, too, looking for things that could be used against him in particular. He does not attempt to take anything, but takes note of any manacles, potions or easily concealed weapons.

As Zuleyka and the dwarf start asking the questions, Ssz'irac nods absentmindedly, looking out of the corners of his red eyes for valuable items easily pocketed. The rogue waits until the attention of all the others is occupied, however.

OOC: Are there any gems, potions or magical-looking objects small enough to be Sleight-of-Handed away in easily accessible places, without drawing suspicion about what Ssz'irac is doing?

Without hesitation or thanks of any kind Bilkar unceremoniously digs into the chest looking for his things, anything on top of his things he simply tosses on the floor over his shoulder without a care before clutching his things like old friends that he hasn't seen in years.

"Stop Bilkar from glowing. Cast your spell."

As Bilkar throws Al's Lute on the floor, Al gets upset.

"Ye durned gnome!" He kicks Bilkar in the rump, sending him into the chest headfirst. "Be careful with me instruments!"

OOC: Are there any gems, potions or magical-looking objects small enough to be Sleight-of-Handed away in easily accessible places, without drawing suspicion about what Ssz'irac is doing?

Anyone Proficient in Sleight of Hand may make one attempt to pocket something vs the magistrate's Passive Perception. Then they can attempt once more as a contest vs the magistrate if they wish. BUT since Ssz'irac has Expertise in Sleight of Hand he may attempt as many contested checks as he wishes. It is all in how lucky you are feeling.

Also the wizard's case is in the chest as he never got it out of Ssz'irac's hand. So the guards confiscated it thinking it was yours.[/sblock]

Ssz'irac leans backwards against a table, his hand feeling around behind his back and finding some small object he then quickly slips into a pocket. Looking around to see whether or not anyone noticed, the drow wears an expression of intrigue on his face as he says, "Irongrad? Do any of you know what that is?"

Moving towards the sage, Ssz'irac places both his hands on the desk. Only the very perceptive may notice one hand now covers a small item that was lying on the table.

"What's Irongrad," he asks Ghilarite, "And how do you suppose we persuade this mage to remove our curse? By your accounts the wizard is insane."

The drow leans back, removing his hands from the desk (and the item along with it), crossing his arms as if daring the sage to answer.

OOC:

Can I assume Ssz'irac has taken the wizard's case as he retrieved his effects from the chest?

Round 0

“So we must face this menace again,” Zuleyka grumbled. As Bilkar fell into the chest, the drow bladesinger surreptitiously gave the chest a knock with her heel, sending the lid slamming down over the gnome and trapping Bilkar inside.

“Where is this Irongrad?” she asked Ghilarit even as she held up the small case she had retrieved from inside the chest, the one that had been the cause of all of this. She nodded to Ssz’irac and looked to see if she could open the case, as if checking the contents to make sure they were there, as if it belonged to her.

OOC: Not meaning to step on Ssz’irac’s toes, but she was the first in the chest and would have grabbed it had I known. :) In any case, they are (sort of) partners (definitely verses any of the others), and if it’s locked she’ll likely need to turn it over to him anyway.

Bilkar Gnome Druid

Grunting and groaning as he tumbles into the chest Bilkar starts to stand only in time to have the heavy lid smack him in the head.

A moment latter with a "ferocious" growl the lid flies open and Bilkar is standing there hands out like claws teeth showing head snapping from side to side as if looking for his attacker. Not seeing anyone hostile to him he puts his hands down and almost blushes timidly at Al before furrowing his brow angrily.

"He says us but not a packmate. Sage is forgetting. Sage sends... new pack? to kill wizard. Take book, bring to Sage. Sage use book to lift cuse. Stop forgetting. Stop glowing." Bilkar is staring at the sage suspiciously.

OOC: Insight [roll0]
Bilkar is a long way from trusting anyone in this room but specifically looking at the sage trying to figure out if he believes he has any intention or ability of actually lifting this curse on himself or anyone else.
