Nacay looks around and shrugs these creatures looked like him mindless drones following orders,regardless of what they are, they are in my way. Nacay pulls a javelin from the leather strap of his scabbard and tossed it effortlessly from hand to hand and waits for one of these creatures to enter his range.

As the shaking begins Vimak's head lowers and he looks up at the ceiling then around at everyone else, back at the ceiling panicked. Not yet confident that the building isn't going to come crashing down on him he grabs his perch, clicking it so that he can move it and bolts for the door as quickly as possible.
"Inside is bad, This is why I don't belong, inside is bad" He chirps.

On getting outside and seeing the swarm coming Vimak will take to the sky where he feels more comfortable flying up and away from the swarm of creatures. Once he is above them be begins to turn circling around trying to figure out what is going on. Is this a migration of some kind, an attack on the city, or something else?

Xobru is being torn from his ponderings by the sound of something. Wings?

Standing up from his chair, he says to the goliath, "Watch my plate."

Spear in hand, the elf makes his way to the door but keeps inside to see what's making the noise.

Theremin wasn't inside for more than a few seconds when some of the more credible looking patrons were heading back out. They were staring at something, and Theremin needed to know what it was!

Lola was about to be entertained by the orc and the human fighting when something swept through the tavern and assumingly though the city street outside, something calling to her. She was too curious about what this ... trouble... was now that her entertainment walked out the door. A few people ran to the door, the locals backed away from the door, a little bit of chaos made for a fun night.

She slid off her chair with a crooked grin on her face. "Duncan, drink's on Corlan." She throws the rest of it back and heads to peek out the door.

Jord felt the power. Something familiar, something ancient, like a mountain, bare, bleak and yet powerful. Still while he felt it, he was not in a rush to see the source, especially not hearing the man at the bar, giving a warning.

When Xobru got up, Jord followed his directions. He picked up Xobru's plat and scraped it onto his plate. Jord felt the call. But one did not face such a thing, much less the unknown, on a empty stomach. As several people rush to the door, including his former table mate, Jord stays seated and continued to eat his stew and drink his beer. But despite his apparent disinterest, Jord is closely paying attention to the noises outside. Between spoonfuls.

All those who peak out the door can see the swarm of creatures.

You both recognize these creatures a Mephits, beings made of the composite of two elements. They are usually malevolent, though are most often found in areas that are more associated with their respective elements, such as volcanos, geysers or muddy swamp land. It is unusual for them to congregate.

They typically aren't a danger by themselves, but in large swarms like this, they can be deadly.

Many of the creatures spot Vimak as he takes to the sky, and break away from the main group to go after him. From his vantage point, Vimak can see three other swarms engaging soldiers in the city. Gunshots can be heard as well.

OOC: Y'all have enough time for one more free action before combat really starts. Make the best of it. They're about 60 feet away.

Vimak realizes that his fears were unfounded, the building was not only in no danger of collapsing but was probably the safer place to be.
He pulls out his pistol taking note of how many are headed his way and how fast they are moving asking himself if he can out run them or if he needs to fight this fight.

Judging by the size of their wings and your current velocity, and because you have a head start, Vimak could likely outrun...er, outfly them. Assuming, of course, they have no other skills or abilities that could negate that advantage.

Nacay is happy to have watched the creatures advance time to study ones opponent is vital... or so he was told. Nacay quickly looks around to see if there is anything to slow the advanced of these strange creatures.
