I'm gonna head over and sign up now.

Something that I'd really love to see is the availability of things like this in an eReader format. (ePub or similar.) I do 90% of my reading during my commute on a kindle (or smartphone if necessary) and the multi-column PDF formats do not translate. I understand that being able to print these out and stick them in a binder is a big appeal for some people, and that's great for stuff that's going to be used at the table, but I can't be the only person who can't fathom the idea of actually reading more than a few paragraphs out of a 3-ring binder.
I asked Morrus about this earlier. The articles would do fine in epub format. I might just create an example epub from one of the pdf's to check if my assumption about amount of work is correct. For adventures, it's probably not worth it, due to more advanced formatting needed in some cases.

My review of The Business of Emotion is up. Short version: Great ideas, let down by lousy formatting.
Great review, you should probably have been the editor for this adventure. ;)

The encounter text just has Markus attacking if the PCs attract his ire – you have to go back to the previous page’s sidebar and read his NPC description to discover that he attacks if anyone returns his sweetheart’s advances.
This confused me as well, it just didn't make sense. It still doesn't make too much sense after re-reading with the additional information from the previous page. Is he trying to scare of the PCs or is he trying to kill them? A very likely outcome seems to be that Markus ends up dead. How does the village react to this? As written, it seems pretty random.

The intent was for Markus to threaten/attack the PC's if they return Emilia's advances. This shows that, while the townsfolk don't mind that their spouses are with other people, jealousy regarding their new love interests is still present. I thought it would clear that he was starting a bar fight over someone hitting on his girlfriend, sorry if it isn't! :/

Bearing in mind that this can be used as an introductory adventure, my goal was to provide ample opportunity for RP and combat exposure, show that there can be real consequences to PC actions and possibly run into some caster resource allocation constraints.

As for the driver for Markus' attack being in his description box and not in the text - I can see how it could cause confusion as presented. The only thing I can offer is that, if printed and put into a binder, the two pages will literally be open at the same time.

I hope the ambiguity around Markus' motivation doesn't detract or distract from the rest of the adventure. In multiple rounds of playtesting I only ever had one group come close to testing Markus and his men and they ran away before the fight started.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought that different-width columns was a bad thing. Agreed that the adventure itself was quite interesting though. All in all this and the other articles got me pledging, and I'm sure the minor issues with formatting and editing will improve over time.

Are there any thoughts of adding En5ider to some tier of the EN World site subscription, or adding it to a new tier (Platinum)? I'm interested, but I'd rather bump my Copper sub up to a higher level to get it, rather than having a separate sub to manage.

Well, that was fun

The opposite, in fact. When I can work out how to, I'd much rather run just the Patreon. It's so much better.

Someone earlier mentioned wanting to pay in pounds sterling. I think (though I'm not 100% sure) that PayPal converts payments before charging the payment method so although you're tied to PayPal's exchange rate which may be slightly in PayPal's favour, you don't have to pay foreign currency fees to your bank or credit card.

These^ That format is not to my taste, fixed (equal) columns thanks! That said....

A bit sad, as the Silver sub I have is losing value to me, I already get all the ZEITGEIST stuff as a backer, and I also have no interest in Spacey Santiago (and can;t really remember last time something for that came out). However 5E content I do want, but cannot justify both. So really ENW as a whole is going to lose out from me with the splitting of stuff. Really for 10 ish a month silver (depending on exchange rate)+ subs should be getting this IMO. Or at least the basic articles.
Basically this has made me reappraise my ENW sub, realise I am not getting value and cancelled. As much as I want to support the site money is limited. And I can't see the Patreon stuff on it's own being worth too much, I mostly want longer adventures. One shots are easy to create myself, things of the scale and awesomeness of WotBS or Zeitgeist are not!
Still I wish you all the best with it and if the amount of content increases in each article and (esp) adventure, I will reconsider. Maybe I will sub $3 max $3 just to assess what comes out. Dunno 'cos that feels tight, but (I suppose) better than nothing :D

I wanted to pledge for the sister magazine TRAILseeker, but got the message "Sorry! This page has not been confirmed yet by its creator, so you cannot pledge right now."
