Well, there's a new option for an underdark-themed ranger, but otherwise it's just a revision of existing class features. And Beastmaster got a pretty major overhaul. :)

Yep. Too bad there aren't any ways to improve the beast with feats or make it large.

Making it large doesn't necessarily improve it. It makes it harder to take into places, for one thing.

Admittedly, it'd be cool to make it rideable. :)

You get 6 feats and 5 ASIs. 7 featd if v.human other than that max hd -2 per level. As in if your hit die is a d10 you get 8+con per level. Still max for first though.

what is the point buy? Oh yeah, it's standard 5E isn't it?

It is 6 times 2d6+6 (effectively you're fixing your third dice to max), distribute attributes as you see fit. Didn't you already roll this and got something like four 13s?
