I've heard of this game before, but only just decided to read up about it a bit the other day. It sounds really interesting, but I'm curious if there is anyone that plays it, and what their opinions are? Fun, not so fun?

I play it, have for around 26 months. It's a game with many aspects: Missions, PVP, Mining, Manufacturing, Trade, Politics, Empire-building, etc. While I might get bored or have no interest in one or more aspects of the game, there tends to be atleast one aspect of the game that interests me at any given time.

I can spend a lot of time on games like SimCity, Railroad Tycoon, and Civilization. Eve has aspects of these games, but instead of playing against the computer, your playing against 200k-300k other people. And unlike those games, Eve never ends.

I love the fact that Eve is a sandbox game, you can do pretty much everything. You can be a hero or a criminal, a warrior or a trader. Creative folks have even created their own subsystems in the game, there are now Banks and Casinos. Folks have taken on the role of 'fixers', mercenaries, and pretty much anything you can imagine.

There is no true Level 70 'end game', while some would say that flying a Titan (largest ship ingame) would be the 'end game' of Eve, most agree that this isn't true. There isn't a character in the game that has all the skills at their highest level, we suspect that this will never hapen.

The game is constantly changing, Eve today isn't the same game i started palying those two years ago. While many complain that things are changed (often called 'nerfing'), personally I find this one of the greatest strengths of Eve. Super powerfull (cheap) setups don't last long within the game, if everyone starts flying a certain setup, it's to powerfull and it gets nerfed. While it might be annoying when your on the receiving end of the 'nerf bat(TM)', it certainly makes the game a lot more interesting...

I'm currently taking a semi break from Eve, had some 'business plans' lined up and all of the failed for one reason or the other, that made me a bit... disapointed... I need to seriously revaluate my current possibilities and plan accordingly. One piece of advice, if you have a good idea, don't wait to long on implementing it. Second piece of advice, good ideas can be very profitable...
