Hmm...Anathema doesn't list possible Specialties. Could some one tell me what the listed Specialties for the Dodge ability are?

Don't know what you mean by 'listed', but some general ones are: Against Ranged Attacks, Against Multiple Opponents, Against One Opponent, Against Melee Attacks...

That's off the top of my head. I can give you more if you want, I'm pretty sure all of those are acceptable.

carrying over from 1e ... without armour... or more exotic ones like in duels, in a dance etc. as long as it makes things interesting. Exalted is the game where you get rewarded for entertaining everyone else.

Rules: Drawing a Weapon is a Miscellaneous Action (Speed 5/-1 DV)

But it doesn't take in size of the weapon or other factors, and frankly speed 5 seems a bit excessive to me, let's call it a 3 or maybe 4. Another option mentioned was to make it part of a two part flurry, but with only one attack.

In cases like this, where equiping yourself isn't really important, i don't care and in this case it's a free action. Added to that is the fact that you're not moving.

If you were unarmed and equiping your last weapon, grabbing a bow and arrow, or even unsheathing a long sword, maybe, but pulling a nunchuck is pretty quick (at least it is for Bruce Lee)

Silhouette v2.0

I call this one, "Dancing Queen." Her melee dodge DV, if I did my homework right, is 8. Against other attacks, it's 7. If I understand DV correctly...that's darn good. And she's got the Dodge charms to back it up. That forms her primary defense. An ori chainshirt forms her backup. For those times when you got NAILED, and it's gonna HURT...I have Durability of Oak. It'll chew through her Essence, but should buy time to make a getaway. :)

Mobilitywise, I have the Monkey Leap and the interesting Foe Vaulting Method. Again, if it does what I think it does, it should let me regain stealth in the middle of a fight. Handy for a stealth-based character. Unfortunately, I had to reduce stealth a little to get Athletics 5 to qualify...but I figure 9 dots of stealth is still decent.

Primary attack is still that Sky Cutter. The damage seems a bit low, but with any luck her decent attack pool will help raise that...as will her habit of attacking with surprise. She's got 2 dots of Resources, and 2 dots in Familiar for that watchy hoot owl. Dots in backgrounds may yet shift...if I can't get a good familiar for 2 dots, I'll probably abandon the idea.

The other idea I'm working on is the same basic build, but with dodge de-emphasized a bit, and designed to take advantage of that Skirmish Armor. This build will probably forgo dodge charms for resistance charms...and perhaps a bit more offense and stealth. Stay tuned.

A suggestion, what we do in our game it is we generally draw as part of a flurry. So if you decide to attack twice after drawing, the penalty of teh action are supposed to be -3,-4,-5. Even if you draw first then attack, we generally assign the worst bonus to the draw weapon action.

My apologies for being AWOL the last few days. I'm in the process of selling my house and preparing to move to Connecticut. I'm also working on shutting down the labs I work in and trying to set things up in the new location. With the holiday thrown in, things have been a bit busy. I'll try make the changes I want to Pharos int he next few days and get his background up.

Luckily since Figgin is having us start as individuals I'm not holding anyone up yet.

Silhouette v2.1

This is a semifinal draft, submitted for legality and approval. The only thing I'm still not sure of is that 2 dot Familiar. If there's a 3 dot version of a sky-cutter or other returning thrown artifact I can get, or a decent non-mobility penalty 2 dot armor, I'll probably get rid of the familiar, get 3 dots of resources, and the other dot into artifact. Otherwise, I may have a little animal pal. Aside from that though, I think Sil's where I want her to be for a 'beginner' level Solar Exalted.

This build is much more sniperly than previous. It uses Observer Deceiving Attack and Falling Icicle Strike to create a character who strikes from concealment to devastating effect (2x damage from FIS to unaware target) and who's throw is not easily traced back to its source. Of course, I'll need a combo to really take advantage of that...but one thing at a time. :) This also led me to get rid of Foe Leaping, since she's harder to detect in combat at all now and get Soaring Crane so she can leap atop buildings and get away roof to roof easily. Since she can now escape melee pretty easily, I switched her dodge specialization to ranged dodges... These changes also let me put Athletics down to 4, and max out Stealth again.

All in all, I think this build is much more focused on concept than before.

looks good. though you might want a dot in lore to make your character literate and a dot in linguistics so you can speak 2 different languages. Otherwise, the circle is gonna have a really fun time trying to talk to each other.

as for armor, i don't really remember, but buff jackets have no mobility penalty i think.
