Hey they just mentioned Cavorite on Warehouse 13!
This is what I have so far:
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] Exotic Materials are natural materials that only occur in worlds with mana. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Cavorite – Cavorite is easy to find in it's natural state in large amounts as it will cause the section of earth it is in to float. These floating islands can be mined for cavorite and used in many technologies. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] The effects of cavorite depend on how much of cavorite you have versus the weight. A small amount for an object will just lower the weight. A balenced amount will allow it to fly and land given another driving force like propellers. A heavy amount will keep it in the sky forever. In it's natural state you can't use cavorite to go higher then a few miles above the earth. However later tech levels have discovered greater abilities. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] In settings rich with Cavorite, entire civilizations live amoung the clouds. Usually only small rocks are mined and the larger ones are used as places to live. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] Airships become an early technology to use cavorite. They are set to balenced, using sails and propellers to direct the ship around. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] Single person crafts using manual propeller systems are also common. You have variations on wind sails as well. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] Cavorite augments telekinesis. Any object with Cavorite can be lifted by someone with Telekinesis beyond their normal size limits. This allows TKs to direct strange craft made with the material. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Mithril – Earth magical metal[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Ember – Fire based material that can be used to heat a camp or with bellows it could run a steam engine. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Naquada – Shift enhancing material [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Naiads – Naiads are a creature that floats along the coasts and look similar to sponges wrapped in jelly. They don't sting and are very helpful to people. Their jelly can be coated along a person and act as a watersuit. It will protect a person from the cold and pressure of the depths. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] Naiads can produce oxygen from the ocean and release it. If you put a sponge in your mouth you will be able to breathe underwater for much longer then is normally possible. Some creatures do this to hide from land dangers and come back when it has passed. Then they can go on land to escape an ocean threat. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] Naiad Jelly can be directed just like water. Naiad pearls are a part of the naiad colony that augments water magic and is warn by water benders. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Hearth Stones – Hearth Stones are a magical material that is useful because it drives away spirits. The reason that they are called Hearth Stones is that in many worlds they are incorporated into the Hearth of the house and it will protect the whole building. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif] Hearth Stones can be used by someone with Abjuration as a foci. Several of them can be used to contain a very powerful spirit. [/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Orichalcum – Useful for enchanting objects. [/FONT]
Now I need one for Air/Storm (not lightning based - I have another idea for that one), Astral, Necromancy, Shadow, Transfiguration, Transmutation, and Life.
