Here's a debate raging over on the WOTC boards.

Do you think Fey'ri are elven tieflings or not based on this information, since there is a poster over on the WOTC boards who says elven tieflings do not exist, only normal human tieflings do.

Monster's of Faerun says: Fey'ri (Tiefling). Planed touched, Tiefling, Fey'ri. Fey'ri are tieflings descended from elves and demons.

Monsters of Faerun, Page 73, "This entry describes two varient tieflings, descended not from human stock, but from elf and orc ancestors."

Lords of Darkness page 126, "The daemonfey collectively comprise a clan of evil, magically talented half-fiends and fey'ri(tieflings descended from elf-demon crossbreeds)....."

Races says: "They are the descendents of sun elves and demons."

Okay. But that doesn't really answer the question, which is are they elven tieflings or not? Based on the information WOTC has provided in thier sourcebooks.

They are "elven tieflings" in the sense that they are descended from elven and demon stock, much the same way that the more common tieflings are descended from human and demon/devil stock.

As far as the Forgotten Realms is concerned, there are elven tieflings, they are just more powerfule (and have a higher ECL) than normal tieflings. Elven Tieflings may not be possible in other campaign settings.

Fey'ri are powerful Elven Tieflings, no argument there. Check the Fiend Folio for Tiefling Halflings and Dwarves.

Thank's guys. I thought I was losing it.

This poster keeps saying over and over that there are no elven tieflings. There are only the standard human tieflings and that the Fey'ri are some thing, but they are NOT elven tieflings since demihuman tieflings DO NOT exist. He even says the two in Fiend Folio are not demihuman tieflings, they are some thing but they are not tieflings because only humans descendents can be tieflings.

If you go by Tiefling as demon-blooded then yes they are Powerfull Elven Tieflings. Ther person who posted that only human stock could be Tiefling never bothered to Read his monster guides as posted by Liquidsabre.

If you go by what some feel is more accurate. Tiefling means demon blooded human while Fey'ri are demon blooded Elves that inbreed
