I wonder if the future of the VTT are the option of offline interactive adventure, created and shared by players themself, but also a mixture of actual-play show and machinima with virtual avatars. Who would watch these? For example no-fandom searching a funny epic-comedy, or a survival horror where nobody, not even the screenwritters themself, knows who will die or survival. It would be like a contest and the players are aspirant to actors or star streamers, and they earn popularity.

How would be if Epic Games/Fortnite created its own VTT mode recycling software? Or EA with the Sims.

If by "interactive" you mean the old NWN group thing I'd say probably not, but the biggest hurdle for in person hybrid tabletop vtt use is that nobody makes an out of the box screen designed to lay flat in the ~150-250$ range. It's easy enough to make one with a little skill & some tools but the result looks like it takes tons of skill if you don't have any & are mostly limited to maybe a screwdriver & some pliers.
