Fire Eyes & Antilife Shell

Hey,
I have two questions about the above mentioned spells. We are playing 3.0.

1) Do you think 'Fire Eyes' is too strong for a 0-lvl spell?
Its from MotW and grants the ability to see through natural fire and smoke. It has a good duration and I used it with Smoke Sticks to give myself concealment.

2) Can the caster allow other creatures to pass through his Antilife Shell?

Cheers

1) Yes. Too strong.
Edit: Natural? Only smoke from fires? Then it's ok... doesn't occur too often in D&D games I guess.
2) No.

The spell says 'normal smoke, fire and fog ... but not magical fog'.

The spell came in handy in a foggy swamp and as already said with Smoke Sticks. Its a nice low cost concealment.
