Well done, that was an amazing interview, his first art piece made my day.

Frank Frazetta is to fantasy art what Jaco Pastorius is to electric bass. There might be technically better artists before and after them, but their styles are signature and unique and define the heights of what is possible. For instance, Victor Wooten can do things with the bass that Jaco couldn't, and probably no one else can, but he doesn't have the signature sound. You know Jaco when you hear him. Similarly with Frazetta.
I remember thinking that Brom was the closest thing to the "next Frazetta," but his work was always so cold, even soul-less, and the content overly "Hellraiserian" for my taste. Wayne Reynolds is a more recent unique stylist, who is able to create technically strong pieces with comic book highlights that make his work so distinct. But like Brom, he seemed unable to embody the soulfulness of Frazetta.
My favorite fantasy artists are Frazetta and the two great Tolkien artists, John Howe and Alan Lee. For RPG artists, I really love Martin Grip of Symbaroum fame.
