Rystil, is this using M&M 1.0 or 2.0?
2.0, but it shouldn't make a difference--from my experience, M&M can be played without any previous experience (I first played M&M in a pick-up game with Piratecat with 0 experience, and it worked out very nicely).

I was just curious. I own both, but have not yet played it.

Right now my schedule is (unfortunately) wide open, so whenever should be good. It might be subject to change once I know the set-up and tear-down times for the artist's area, since I'll also be helping my dad there.

So it looks like I could likely have at least 5 players (fusangite, romp, Redwick, fru, Nerfwright) on Wednesday afternoon. Interesting--The Universe, are you free then? I'll check on CM for VK.

Either way, I'll get some short character descriptions up soon, though I'd rather not have a dibs-calling rush like in some of the really popular game threads where the player away from ENWorld when the characters come up gets left with something they really don't want to play. Instead, I'd like everyone to give two top choices, and hopefully I can engineer the character setup from that so that everybody can play one of their top choices.

Character bios ready!

~

The Department of Occult Observation. A top secret organisation founded by the Icke Act to protect the world from alien activity.

The Agents--

Rex Arthur: British millionaire playboy. Gallant and suave, he is quick to win the ladies, and he always has time for a damsel in distress. Rex is a master of close-quarters combat and can sometimes best even strange, powerful, and otherworldly foes in a fair fight.

Allen Gray: Genius scientist and inventor from Massachusetts, Allen has a device for every situation. Just a bit eccentric and fond of sharp needles, nonetheless, his technical expertise is crucial to any mission's success.

Lazarus Robert Talbot, Q.C.: A seasoned Canadian lawyer and politician, Lazarus acts as an intermediary between some of the team's more extreme members and the administration. Lazarus is a natural peacemaker, but don't let that fool you into thinking that he's helpless in a fight--he earned the nickname "Laz R. Tal" for his pinpoint accuracy, and he wields an experimental laser designed by Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), who brought you such fine products as the Therac-25 medical accelerator.

Elysia Thidman: Possessed of incredible persuasive talent, Ellie could sell sand in a desert. She specialises in guile, subterfuge, and covert ops, preferring not to get into the thick of things herself if she can send someone else there instead.

Lemuel Rien: A French-African immigrant, Lemuel (or "Lemmy" as some call him, though he doesn't like it) is schooled in the myths and legends of Africa, India, Australia, and Europe. Lemuel has his own theories for such things as the Nazca lines, the Bermuda triangle, and other mysterious sites. Though he isn't physically strong, nonetheless, he does have a giant flamethrower, and really, what do you need in life beyond a satchel full of books on the occult and a giant flamethrower?

Elizabeth Arden: An influential Neo-pagan environmental activist from California, Liz is a perceptive snooper who has learned to be resilient and persistent. Though she has nowhere near Ellie's charm and power of persuasion, she has militia and Army reserve training and can definitely kick the prettier girl's ass.

That character sounds totally cool. I'm calling dibs, if possible.

So I'm not doing dibs, per se, but if I was, fusangite did specify a preference for Lemmy yesterday. What I'll do is list both preferences at the top, but I suggest that everyone pick a second choice, especially if many people want to be Lemmy. I'll run an algorithm that matches people with the best possible choices overall.
