So let's talk about the Elephant in the room.
We are in a time in which the statues of Christopher Columbus, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are torn down because they were racists.
Shouldn't we be brave enough to tear down the image of the Founder of our beloved game, Gary Gygax, the man himself? After all, a lot of racism is ingrained in the game because of him. Racism against Orcs and Goblins, the "evil" humanoids. Racism against Devils and Demons. Racism against the Black Elves! Think about it: to identify an "evil" elven race, they used the colour black! Isn't it abominable?
Truth to be told, Matt Mercer is doing an excellent job with Wildemount to undermine the patriarchal, white-old-and-catholic-male culture that Gygax helped consolidate. In fact, I would gladly tear down a Gygax statue and replace it with Mercer's. Anyone with me?
