Grapple/Swallow Whole - guidance needed

The reason for the "Light weapon" restriction is because the swallowed person is considered grappled.

You can crawl out if you can beat that grapple check, or you can cut your way out if you have a light weapon in hand, just as you can use a light weapon to attack while in a grapple.

Attempts to exit via magical means, such as Dimension Door are subject to all of the problems of casting a spell while in a grapple. (i.e. keep your Concentration checks up to date, spell casters.) Surprisingly, they don't put any restrictions on breathing or speaking while immersed in digestive acid and being "bludgeoned" by the muscles of the stomach walls, so activating items isn't a problem. (Aren't Cape of the Montebank and Dimension Stride boots nice to have? )

Since a tendriculous is a plant, does muscular action still close the hole afterward?

Once the creature exits, the plant’s regenerative capacity closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out.
