Pathfinder 1E Gunslingers and the Deadly Aim feat?

We have a gunslinger in our Pathfinder campaign. The question came up about whether or not he was
allowed (or if it would be worth it) to take the Deadly Aim feat, because of the last line:

"The bonus damage does not apply to touch attacks or effects that do not deal hit point damage."

So can he use it, or if he uses it, does he lose the bonus damage but keep the attack bonus?

Some at our table were saying that the gunslinger doesn't really do touch attacks per se, but rather
that the revolvers he uses targets touch AC, so he could use it. Others not...

Thanks for any help, appreciated! :)

It's a little wonky, but there's a specific exception baked in for Deadly Aim.

Ultimate Combat said:
When firing an early firearm, the attack resolves against the target's touch AC when the target is within the first range increment of the weapon, but this type of attack is not considered a touch attack for the purposes of feats and abilities such as Deadly Aim.

So it is supposed to work.

Cheers!

And you have to consider that the Deadly Aim feat was created before the firearms rules existed in PF, so the firearms rules included an adjustment to that feat specifically allowing gunslingers to use it.
