The leader, presumably Mad Dog, raises an eyebrow at Anvuss, "Anvuss, eh? I take it the old professor hired the lot of you to fetch something important from these cultists? Something valuable?" He looks over your group for a moment, a calculating look in his eye. "We've no love for those fools, if that's what you're asking. Just what is it that you've been hired to do?"

OOC FYI: I'm back home (at least until next week, when I'm gone again for Thanksgiving), so Tali can do stuff again.

OOC: Tali has been left to watch the abandoned bakery and the Gilded Raven casino while the rest of the group goes to meet up with the local gang leader.

Tali settles in for a long watch. The group hasn't been gone long, and there is no activity around the buildings he watches at this time.

"Our primary task is to recover a missing assistant, who may be a prisoner of the cult. As a secondary objective, it is our hope that we will be able to prevent the cultists from being a further bother to the university. It remains unclear what motivates the cultists, but they seem determined to harm us. We wish to destroy their capability to effectively wage war against us, however that may be done. I have associated with many of my fellow warforged who were undergoing basic instruction in strategy and tactics, and while that is not my primary field I believe rendering the enemy unable to harm you is a very basic and broadly desirable strategic goal. Is it also your intention to prevent the cultists from interfering with your people? If so, our goals are aligned. Perhaps you might explain the nature of your organization, so that we might better know how we might aid each other in our common goals?"

"If you think those cultists are edging into your turf, then we're on your side. We care nothing for your presence here; we are in no way affiliated with the watch. As you seem to know, we are employed by a professor for a very specific task. This task sets us against the cult, and we can help you strike them, and strike them hard. We just want a man, Loris Crosshammer, as well as any academic material they have taken from our employer." Raven keeps her back to Shoot, not wanting these bedlam boys directly behind her.

The man nods his head slowly and stares at the table for a moment as if considering something. "We can help you with information, but not much else. We've lost a few men in an attack on one of their locations. We figured it was where their head man was, but the boys we sent never came back, and we haven't seen them since. If you are going up against them, we can spare you some people to guard your entry and exit. And we can show you to where our boys went in. If you can get rid of them, or bring down their leader, that would be worth what we'd normally charge for this kind of information."

[sblock=Raven and Seat]While he certainly seems to be telling you the truth, you get the impression that he's not telling you everything. He certainly seems preoccupied with money, and with the value of what you were hired to retrieve.[/sblock]

"That seems a satisfactory arrangement to me. We will need to rest and prepare before the assault, however."

He turns to his companions, in order to see if they have anything to add.

Raven isn't satisfied. "So you're competing for power in the streets with this cult. They've already killed several of you gang. We're saying we'll join you against them, and you're saying all you will do is show us where they stay. We already know some of the places they do business. Listen. We've already taken out half a dozen of them. We're not schoolkids; we can fight. Together, we ought to be able to take them out. Let's hit them together. If we win, we'll take Loris and any stuff he's stolen from our friendly professor, and you get the streets. We'll split whatever other treasure we collect."
