Master of the Game

So, one of my players is going to GM a one-shot using Crisis in Freeport. That means I actually get to game (yay!) for the first time in years, but I can't figure out what I want to play, and I have 3 days left to decide.
The character will be 9th level, and must use WotC books. No weird races or templates. My stats are 16 14 14 12 10 8 without level-based modifiers.
Any ideas? It doesn't have to be super-powered or anything, just a solid build and fun to play. I tend to like characters with lots of options, so I'm thinking rogue/fighter, but warlock or warlock/monk has always kind of fascinated me.
