Hidden Kingdom – Christmas in Camelot

It is a cold winter in the dark agesand you have been invited for the Christmas Feast at Camelot. Thefires burning in great halls of Camelot not only bring warmth, butthe smell of roasting meat. Tapestries hung from the walls seal inthe warmth. Mulled wine steams in your mug and warms your insides.
There is a lot of activity as squiresand pages carry in food from the kitchen. Being a lowly knight youset back from the round table, but you look at the great table andnote some of the empty seats. Will some knight step forward and setin the Siege Perilous (and live); who is worthy? Lancelot's place atthe table is empty? You note the Queen looking anxiously around theroom for her Champion, but you don't believe those evil rumors.
Inside the Chapel the Priest preparefor the Holy Mass to celebrate the birth of our Lord. Outside howlsand noises can be heard in the nearby woods as the ancient peoplebegin to celebrate the Winter Solstice with their ancient ceremonies. Many here will quietly attend both ceremonies.
Will King Arthur's Code of Chivalrybring peace to the land? Peace between Pagans and Christians? Peacebetween British, Saxons, Cornish, Irish, Northmen and all the others?
Soon the knights would gather to sharetheir tales of adventure from the past year. Some knights will comewho had yielded in combat to one of the Kings Knights and were nowcoming to swear loyalty. Others would boast of victories in the nameof the King and some would confess sin and failure.
And then many would appear to beg favorand help at the court. Many a Fair Maiden would come looking for aknight to undertake a quest. Perhaps you think a Fair Maiden willchoose you for a Quest, then you could win fame and glory; perhapssomeday take a seat at the Round Table? If the Maiden finds youpleasing perhaps you can wear her sleeve in the tournaments thisspring?
With fame perhaps you will get landsand retainers. A castle to defend, warriors to follow you, peasantsto manage. When the King calls you will you be ready? Are you ofnoble Character so as to rise in power and influence?
