Holding the Charge Spellcasting Question

Sorry, I'm sure this has been covered before.

Quick question about holding the charge.

Could you cast a Touch Spell (say CLW) as a standard action, then take a move action to get close to an ally, and finally deliver the touch spell all in the same round?

Thanks!

not in the same round, no. in the next round you could but not in the same round. you essentially get a free chance to touch your target as part of the standard action used to cast the spell and you can't (usually) split up an action. you could take a 5 foot step if you wanted though.

Yes!

Touch Spells in Combat

Many spells have a range of touch. To use these spells, you cast the spell and then touch the subject, either in the same round or any time later. In the same round that you cast the spell, you may also touch (or attempt to touch) the target. You may take your move before casting the spell, after touching the target, or between casting the spell and touching the target. You can automatically touch one friend or use the spell on yourself, but to touch an opponent, you must succeed on an attack roll.

You can, but it's a specific rule.

Cast + Move + Touch = Standard + Move-equivalent action

It works only for touch spells, and for actual movement.
It is not allowed for non-touch spells instead, and you cannot substitute the Move with another move-equivalent action.

The reason it is allowed is that normally Touch is included in the Cast (Cast + Touch = Standard) so here you aren't doing anything more than normally, and probably the designers thought that the caster is kind of taking the move while completing the casting.

BTW it works also for offensive Touch spells.
