The feat Magic Initiate allows you to select 2 cantrips and a 1st level spell of any spell casting class you select. Take warlock and Hex :)

Eldritch knight is not a trap but it is mostly fighter with a dash of wizard (limits spells known, limited schools of magic, slow progression of spell levels). Blade-pact warlock is sort of the opposite...mostly mage with a dash of fighter. THey haven't really produced a good 50-50 split warrior mage class for 5e (oath of vengeance paladin is actually the closest but divine). But you can multiclass EK with wizard fairly well if you want more magic zing.....it'll just take a while to get there.

If you want to play an Arcane Archer you need to do exactly nothing to the Ranger class. That was my first 5e PC. Enjoy the lightning arrows and hunters mark.

For a magic warrior feel instead of going Eldrich Knight, you could go Rune Scribe for say 3 levels, then attune yourself (even if you don't have the master runes), to Ild (fire rune) and Vind (wind rune) if you got archery or Kalt if you go melee. There is no MAD at all, none of the Rune Scribes magic requires a casting stat! Plus you get 3 tool profiencies.

Imagine going Champion, then Rune Scribe, Archery fighting style and hitting enemies from twice the normal distance with arrows or bolts that deal fire damage that you can roll damage for twice and take the higher amount. Plus you get other cool magic.
