How do these familiar based powers balance out?

Privateer, I put that in because I have a feeling that some time, somewhere, someone'll put out a class or the like that has a familiarlike being without actually having it be a familiar. Look at some of the blackguard's fiendish helpers for examples. If someone like that were to have this spell on their list, I'd prefer it open ended. Or even if someone decided to go the paladin/sorcerer holy charasmatic caster route. And besides, this spell is easily in potion range, if someone really felt the need for it.

And Coreuleus, I don't have a dragon subscription, so these are all off the top of my head.
