This spawned for me from the Are you a good Dungeon Master? thread, which posed that question.

I'm getting the feeling that people who consider themselves good DM's are those that have invested a lot of time (15+ years) in DMing.

I know that I would have likely answered the question differently 10 years ago, so I'm curious to see the lengths of time people have been playing and if it correlates to their impression of their gaming skills.

So, how long have you been a DM, and do you consider yourself "good" at what you do?

Started GMing Shadowrun in 1993 or so. Gm'd my first 3E D&D game about 2 or 3 years ago. I ran a Legend of the Five Rings game about a year and a half ago. And I've been running a D&D 3.5 game for about a year now.

So I guess that puts me in the 10-15 year category, although I didn't spend a lot of that time DMing.

Edit - Forgot, I ran a short-lived X-files style Demon:The Fallen campaign a year ago, but that was cut short because I moved.
